Job summary

Silgan Dispensing Systems is seeking a Warehouse Shipper/Receiver to help run our plant operations efficiently. You will count parts, move pallets, and maintain inventory records while communicating with carriers and customers.

This role emphasizes accuracy and proactive problem solving on a fast-paced production floor. Ideal candidates have shipping documentation knowledge, hands-on experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of international shipping documentation.
• Hands-on experience.
• Detail oriented.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Fedex International shipping experience preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in SAP.

Responsibilities

• Physically count parts/components to monitor and maintain inventory records.
• Follow established material handling procedures across inventory locations.
• Communicate with commercial carriers and customers.
• Operate forklift and/or hand truck to move pallets.
• Enter data into SAP in a timely and accurate manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

About this Role

The Warehouse Shipper/Receiver position is an important role on the Silgan Dispensing team and is a great opportunity for those looking to advance their skills. Our plant help produce thousands of our dispensing products each day. So, it’s important to keep it running efficiently and continuously. Here’s a list of duties that our Warehouse Shipper/Receiver performs on a typical day:

• Physically count parts/components to monitor and maintain inventory records


• Follow established material handling procedure across various inventory locations


• Communicate with commercial carriers and customers


• Operate forklift and/or hand truck to move pallets


• Enter data into SAP computer system in a timely and accurate manner


• Other duties as assigned

Qualified Candidates must have:

• Knowledge of international shipping documentation


• Hands-on experience


• Detail oriented


• Min of High school diploma or GED required


• Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Candidates will have:

• Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on needs.


• Ability to work independently and be proactive.


• Ability to analyze, interpret and report data.


• Ability to prioritize work is essential.


• Fedex International shipping experience


• Good oral and written communication skills


• Experience in SAP

Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):

• Ability to lift and/or move 35 lbs.


• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor.


• Physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
