Job summary

Silgan Dispensing is seeking a Warehouse Shipper/Receiver to help keep our production lines running smoothly in Torrington, CT. This role counts parts, moves pallets, communicates with carriers, and enters data into SAP.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, hands-on warehouse experience, and good computer skills with MS Office. Training on SAP will be provided; a safe, team-focused environment awaits.

• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.

About this Role

The Warehouse Shipper/Receiver position is an important role on the Silgan Dispensing team and is a great opportunity for those looking to advance their skills. Our plant help produce thousands of our dispensing products each day. So, it's important to keep it running efficiently and continuously. Here's a list of duties that our Warehouse Shipper/Receiver performs on a typical day:

• - Physically count parts/components to monitor and maintain inventory records
• - Follow established material handling procedure across various inventory locations
• - Communicate with commercial carriers and customers
• - Operate forklift and/or hand truck to move pallets
• - Enter data into SAP computer system in a timely and accurate manner

• Other duties as assigned

Qualified Candidates must have:

• - Knowledge of international shipping documentation
• - Hands-on experience
• - Detail oriented
• - Min of High school diploma or GED required
• - Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Candidates will have:

• - Willingness to assist other cross-functional groups based on needs.
• - Ability to work independently and be proactive.
• - Ability to analyze, interpret and report data.
• - Ability to prioritize work is essential.
• - Fedex International shipping experience
• - Good oral and written communication skills
• - Experience in SAP

Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):

• Ability to lift and/or move 35 lbs.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the production floor.
• Physical requirements include but not limited to sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
