Job summary

Loparex is seeking a dedicated Shipping/Receiving associate at our Iowa City facility. You will operate forklifts, move materials, and support accurate inventory and shipping processes.

Ideal candidates demonstrate safety consciousness, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to work across teams in a fast-paced environment. Regular hours and benefits are provided to support stable employment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a forklift and lift heavy materials.

• Good computer skills for inventory and shipping systems.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety by leading by example and encouraging safe work practices.
• Receive raw stock and materials using fork lifts and carts.
• Interact professionally with drivers, customer service, dispatchers, and customers.
• Deliver items to appropriate departments as needed.
• Perform cycle counts and monitor inventory accuracy.
• Ship finished products by verifying load lists and securing loads for transport.
• Maintain daily forklift maintenance checks and 6S in assigned areas.
• Attend required hazardous materials and fall protection training.

What You'll Do:

• Promote safety by leading by example, participating in safety engagement and encouraging team members to work safe each day and to follow all safety guidelines/procedures
• Receives raw stock, chemicals, materials, and supplies using small, large, and clamp lift trucks
• Professionally interact with Truck drivers, Customer Service, Dispatchers, and our customers.
• Deliver items to appropriate departments upon receipt.
• Receives up to 50 Chemical drums per day using a Drum hand cart
• Uses computer to receive and ship all shipments in Prism/MES/SAP systems.
• Performs weekly and monthly cycle counts on raw material and chemicals
• Labels and loads hazardous waste barrels and empty barrels to comply with EPA & DOT regulations.
• Monitors recycling trailers and reorganize as needed
• Attends initial and annual plant hazardous waste training, as well as DOT required Hazardous Materials Training.
• Move materials and supplies to appropriate destination within the plant, rotates stock as needed
• Ships finished products by checking shipping schedule, reviewing load list, taking product measurements, updating inventory records and loading and securing products onto transportation using lift and clamp trucks.
• Performs daily maintenance checks on fork trucks
• Completes required 6S program responsibilities for assigned areas
• Regular, consistent attendance
• Receive, monitor and change resin railcar compartments, requires successful completion of fall protection training.

We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous fork truck experience
• Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity and customers
• Requires the ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions, use basic math and take accurate measurements, make calculations and use hand tools.
• Solid computer skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to communicate positively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to sit and climb up and off fork truck repeatedly for 8 hours
• Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to ear plugs, safety glasses and steel toe shoes

Shift Details:

• 10AM-6PM (Monday-Friday)
