Job summary

G.S. Precision, a global leader in aerospace/defense components, seeks a Shipping Clerk in Brattleboro, VT. You will perform shipping, receiving, packing and inventory duties under the guidance of the Lead Person and Shipping Supervisor.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years’ experience, strong data entry, math, and communication skills. Training will be provided; ability to lift up to 25 lbs is needed. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years’ experience preferred.
• Experience with various software and data entry skills.
• Basic math skills and good written/communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ship duties: check packing slips and determine shipping method/carrier.
• Pack items to specifications and ensure safe delivery.
• Train personnel in the area.
• Maintain records and data.
• Keep area and equipment neat and orderly.
• Maintain inventory accuracy via cycle counts or physical inventories.
• Follow all company policies and safety rules.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm

Job Objective: Perform a variety of shipping, receiving, packing and inventory duties under the direction of the Lead Person and/or Shipping Supervisor.

Essential Job Duties:

• Perform shipping duties, check packing slips against actual goods; determine method of shipping including carrier; affix proper ship method as required.
• Perform packing duties; assure goods packaged according to specifications and to assure safe delivery of all parts; assure proper counts packaged; maintain adequate packaging supplies; requisition new supplies as required.
• Assist in training personnel in the area.
• Maintain records or other data as required.
• Maintains area and equipment in neat, orderly condition.
• Responsible for inventory accuracy by conducting periodic cycle counts and/or physical inventories.
• Observes all company policies, rules and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security.
• Performs other duties as required, assigned or directed.

Requirements

Job Specifications:

• High School Diploma or GED and 3-5 years’ experience preferred.
• Experience with various software and computer systems and data entry skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Good written and communication skills.
• Use of judgment required in planning own work determining shipping methods.
• Basic knowledge of product flow through the company.
• Must be able to drive and maintains a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently.
