Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a reliable Shipper to support our global manufacturing operations in Michigan. The role focuses on safety, accurate packing, inventory control, and on-time shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety as a priority by following policies and reporting concerns.
  • Manage finished goods flow between assembly and shipping.
  • Pick components accurately to fill packing lists.
  • Follow Kan Ban procedures to ensure timely replacements.
  • Pack product in boxes and on skids for shipments.
  • Process shipments using shipping software.
  • Communicate with customer service on order/shipment status.
  • Coordinate with local freight carriers for pickups.
  • Conduct cycle counts of Finished and Component Goods inventory.
  • Follow OSHA compliance regulations.

We have an exciting opening for a Shipper.


Your Main Responsibilities Will Include


  • Keep safety as a primary focus by working safely, following safety policies and work instructions, asking for help, promptly reporting safety concerns, and utilizing the Stop & Seek program, as required.

  • Manage finished goods material flow between assembly and shipping, including stock transactions.

  • Pick components accurately (model and quantity) to fill packing list.

  • Accurately follow all Kan Ban procedures to ensure timely replacement of finished goods and gauges.

  • Pack product in both individual boxes and skids for shipments to customers.

  • Process shipments through the computer using Precision shipping software.

  • Communicate with customer service on order/shipment status.

  • Contact local freight companies (i.e. UPS, FedEx, Airborne, etc.) for special pickup arrangements when needed.

  • Cycle counting of Finished and Component Goods inventory.

  • Follow all OSHA compliance regulations.

  • Promote and practice 5S + Safety approach by keeping work area neat, clean, and organized, and following safety and housekeeping rules.

  • Positively support change initiatives by actively contributing to and participating in lean principles and Kaizen events.

  • Positively and actively contribute to High Performance Teams (HPTs) by participating in team improvement boards (TIB) reviews, problem solving and task completion.

  • Be a respectful team player and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all team members and supervision.

  • Perform other duties as responsibilities necessitate.

You Must Be Able To


  • Frequently will lift up to 40 pounds, stand, walk, reach, pull, push, bend, kneel, grasp, and handle.

  • Occasionally will twist.

  • Work in a moderately loud environment with potentially expose to or use of dirt and moving equipment.
