Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Shipper/Loader on 1st shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) at our Pueblo, CO plant. You will receive, assemble, crate, and load orders, build properly sized pallets, and transport crates with a forklift to the carrier truck.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 3 years shipping/receiving experience, strong math, attention to detail, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. We offer medical, vision, dental, 401k, PTO, holidays, and other incentives.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assemble order quantities and crate orders per carrier requirements.
• Package products to prevent damage with properly sized pallets and banding.
• Safely operate forklift to move crates within the facility and to carriers.
• Verify shipment weight and accuracy against documents.
• Accept or refuse deliveries based on discrepancies and inspect for damage.
• Distribute contents and move between facility locations as needed.
• Move finished goods for loading and move raw materials to production areas.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
• Within 3 months: follow plant safety rules, wear PPE, maintain safety, and minimize absences.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Shipper/Loader – 1st Shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) to be based out of Pueblo. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Shipper/Loader will be responsible for efficiently receiving and loading of orders as well as movement of materials in the plant, while adhering personal conduct based on Atkore’ ATIRE protocols

What you’ll do:

The Shipper/Loader’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Receive and assemble order quantities and properly crate orders within requirements set by carriers, consolidating shipping orders when possible.
• Ensure product is packaged to arrives damage-free by building properly sized pallets, banding, and securing order.
• Safely operate forklift to transport crates throughout the facility and on to the carrier truck
• Verify shipment weight.
• Accept orders shipped to warehouse, verify quantity and items received and compare to delivery receipt and purchase order, investigate and differences immediately, identify any damage whether visible or concealed and accept or refuse delivery as appropriate.
• Breakdown orders received and distribute contents to appropriate locations throughout facility.
• Move finished product outside and stage for loading truck.
• Move raw materials to production areas as required to maintain production.
• Perform any other tasks appointed by management.

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent
• Three years previous shipping/receiving experience is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good understanding of math skills required for quick and accurate counting, calculations, and measurements
• Attention to detail, accuracy, time management and organization
• Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner
• Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

Within 3 months, you’ll:

Know and follow plant safety rules and wear proper PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, and high-vis clothing, and gloves, etc.)

• Zero safety incidents in past 90 days of evaluation date
• Less than 15 attendance points on the date of evaluation
• No documented warnings within 90 days of probationary period

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $21.00 per hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
