Strahman Valves, a global leader in washdown equipment and valves, seeks a shipper to handle shipping/receiving, packaging, and material handling in a fast-paced environment. You will use ERP systems to track shipments and support logistics daily.

Required is a high school diploma or GED with 1+ year shipping experience; forklift certification is a plus. Opportunities exist for growth into a lead role based on performance and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Strong shipping/receiving basics and ability to follow SOPs.
  • Experience with manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Forklift certification or ability to certify.

Responsibilities

  • Package finished products for domestic and international shipment.
  • Record shipments using ERP system with accuracy.
  • Assist loading/unloading and material handling as part of the team.
  • Participate in cycle counts and inventory processes.
  • Contribute to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Growth into a lead role may be available based on performance.

Job Summary:

Perform shipping and receiving activities, such as packaging, loading, unloading, and material handling.

Primary Functions:
  • Package finished products in cartons and crates, and prepare them for domestic and international shipment, ensuring products are correctly checked, packed and shipped per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow and uphold safety and other company policies - safety first.
  • Use the shipping manifest and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to record shipments.
  • Ensure outbound trucks are loaded correctly including late trucks; ensure inbound loads are unloaded properly and safely. Perform loading, unloading, and material handling as part of the team.
  • Participate in cycle counts and the physical inventory process.
  • Participate in 5S, continuous improvement, troubleshooting, and equipment inspections.
  • Opportunities exist for growth into a lead role based on performance, initiative, and team leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One or more years of shipping experience nice to have
    • Experience in manufacturing preferred
    • Knowledge of UPS World Ship, FedEx Ship Manager, and bill of lading software nice to have
  • Certified or able to certify on forklift
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job including:
    • Safely navigate a manufacturing environment
    • Extended periods of standing and walking
    • Ability to bend, stoop, push/pull and reach
    • Use of computer, phone, forklift, and other common shipping and material handling equipment
    • Perform frequent lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
