Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three to five years of shipfitting experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and diagrams.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and measurement devices.
• Commitment to safety and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance and ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Comply with safety, ethics, and environmental rules and policies.
• Layout parts from blueprints or templates and use scribe and hand tools.
• Mark reference lines (center, buttock, frame) and align parts with jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges, and mauls.
• Mark hole locations and install temporary fasteners for welding or riveting.
• Prepare molds and templates for nonstandard parts.
• Install packing, gaskets, liners, and structural accessories and members.
• Tack weld clips and brackets prior to permanent welding.
• Accountable for daily work assignments; work with minimal supervision.
• Flag cranes and pull angle iron as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
