Job summary

Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding LLC in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a Shipfitter Lead B to supervise hourly shipfitters, assign daily tasks, track time, and ensure quality and safety on production lines. You will coordinate with foremen and plant management to meet schedules and costs.

The role requires hands-on leadership, knowledge of shipfitting techniques, and the ability to interpret blueprints. Prior journeyman experience and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a journeyman.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work objectives.
• Ability to plan work procedures, equipment, material and manpower needs.
• Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group and to perform as a member of a management team.
• Knowledge of shipfitting techniques and equipment involved.

Responsibilities

• Line up hourly workers on daily assignments.
• Complete time entry of hourly workers on a daily basis.
• Monitor job activity of hourly workers, answering questions, giving guidance and resolving problems.
• Assist plan management in determining work procedures, equipment and supply needs and manpower requirements to complete assignments per production drawing.
• Selects, supervises, instructs and schedules employees.
• Monitor work processes and products to ensure quality and cost containment standards are maintained.
• Ensures company equipment is properly handled, maintained and secured.
• Ensures and monitors compliance of safety rules and regulations by all employees.

SHIPFITTER LEAD B

Full Time Non-Executive Pascagoula, MS, US

GENERAL FUNCTION: Supervises the activities of a group of hourlyshipfitters in order to meet company quality and safety standards within production schedules, in the most cost effective manner. Works under the general direction of a foreman, superintendent or other plant management position.
