Job summary

CTR Group is seeking skilled shipyard welders to join our Norfolk team. The role requires OSHA 10, at least five years of shipyard repair experience, and the ability to obtain tac certification. Candidates must have their own tools and PPE to perform multiple torch and welding tasks.

The position offers weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package within a safety‑centered work environment. Exposure to heavy industrial projects in the marine sector is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have OSHA 10 in hand.
• Must have at least 5 years of shipyard repair experience.
• Must be able to obtain tac certification, have own tools and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Multi-pass tack welding
• Burning-Oxygen/Propane Burning Torch
• Heating-Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch
• Able to comprehend drawings, blueprints, work packages, sketches to include
• Weld symbols, material types, datum and reference lines
• Able to comprehend fractional dimensions as with the use of a ruler
• Ability to layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly
• Ability to assemble structural piece parts in accordance with specifications in a quality manner
• Air carbon arc gouging
• Able to use molded lines, ship reference lines
• Able to erect, set, makeup complex-shaped shell plates, decks, bulkheads, longitudinal, and trunks
• Able to Install/replace hull inserts, penetrations, and complex foundations
