Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown, RI is seeking skilled fabricators and shipfitters to join our manufacturing team. You will contribute to foundations, structures and deck packages with paid training and growth opportunities.

Key tasks include reading blueprints, fitting weld joints, tack-welding, and using hand and power tools while working safely on site across shifts. This is a full-time position at Quonset Point with competitive benefits and opportunities to advance in a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent OR 2+ years of related technical experience.
• Available to work all shifts.
• Ability to work at heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, diagrams, and perform basic layout functions.
• Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of foundations, structures, bulkheads, frames, components and deck packages.
• Developing a working knowledge of structural weld joint fit-up/weld symbols, burning and grinding operations.
• Aligning parts in relation to each other using jacks, clips and wedges through use of blueprints and templates.
• Tack-welding structural parts as required.
• Utilizing hands and power tools in the steel fabrication trade.
• Ability to read and interpret written policies, procedures and guidelines as work assignments will be accomplished using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, and shipyard procedures.
• Basic Mathematic ability.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
