West Hill Staffing Group LLC is seeking a Shipfitter 1st Class in Pascagoula, MS to join a shipyard team. You will cut, fit, and assemble steel components for ship structures, reading blueprints and working from templates to ensure precise fit-up and alignment.

Candidates should have 2-4 years of related experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety. This hands-on role offers opportunities for growth in a high-demand defense environment.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of proven shipfitting or related trade experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints using metric and standard measurements.
• Solid knowledge of steel plate and beam layout, fit-up, and fabrication.
• Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills.

Responsibilities

• Cut, grind, bend, shape, and fit steel components for ship structures with precision.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and templates to assemble and erect metal components.
• Use fabrication tools to install and align structural ship parts per specifications.
• Work in production environments including heights, confined spaces, and outdoors.
• Collaborate across shifts to meet project timelines and production demands.
• Uphold safety standards that exceed industry requirements.
