Job summary

West Hill Staffing Group LLC is seeking a Shipfitter 1st Class in Pascagoula, MS, offering $43.50/hour with a $180/day per diem. This full‑time role focuses on assembling steel structures and ensuring precise ship components for warships and other vessels.

In this hands‑on position, you will read blueprints, fit and weld components, and work across shifts in varying conditions. A strong safety record and 3–5 years of experience are expected, with growth opportunities in a premier shipyard

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of shipfitting or structural steel fabrication experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints (metric and standard).
• Solid understanding of structural layout and steel fabrication techniques.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with fabrication tools.
• Strong math, reading, and comprehension abilities.
• Proven commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Cut, grind, bend, and shape steel components to specified measurements and angles.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints and templates to assemble and install structural ship parts.
• Use trade-specific tools to fabricate and fit steel plates and beams.
• Align and secure metal components for accurate structural assembly.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions across multiple shifts to meet production schedules.
• Maintain exemplary safety standards, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
