Job summary

The Walt Disney Company, aboard Disney Cruise Line, seeks a seasoned Youth Activities Leader to manage and elevate youth program operations across the ship. You will lead a multi-venue team, schedule staff, and ensure high standards of guest service while enforcing safety and health policies.

This shipboard role requires 21+ years old, CPR readiness, and a commitment to working long weeks in a dynamic entertainment environment at sea.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of recent experience in a high-volume child care operation.
• Minimum three years of current or previous management experience leading a large team.
• Degree in related field preferred.
• Proven experience leading a team.
• Exceptional Guest service skills.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Must be receptive to CPR training while employed with DCL.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to lead a team and anticipate and solve problems quickly.
• Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet.
• Experience managing complex policies and detailed operational procedures.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Willingness to live and work onboard one of our vessels for a certain length of time.
• Can work a seven-day, 70-84 hour week with limited time off.
• Can follow Disney Cruise Line appearance guidelines.
• Appreciate diversity among guests and crew.

Responsibilities

• Implement and handle the daily operation for Youth spaces including Guest and Crew experiences.
• Lead the Youth Activities team across venues: It’s A Small World Nursery, Oceaneer’s Club/Lab, Edge, Vibe, and ship facilities.
• Provide leadership for all direct reports and manage daily staff schedules.
• Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure Project Onboard compliance and monitor STAR.
• Oversee onboard training and new hire programs; plan succession.
• Handle crew recognition, meetings, budgeting and inventory control.
• Resolve guest complaints or issues; monitor show quality and policy adherence.
• Undertake safety responsibilities and public health policy compliance.
