Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat site in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking an Hourly Technician - Welder to perform submarine shipboard installation and manufacturing tasks. Applicants should have training in naval submarine/shipboard maintenance and be able to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Experience in shipboard installation, repair and/or manufacturing environments or formal welding training.
• Ability to perform craft functions safely per procedures and policies.
• Willingness to travel and accept extended out-of-area work and varied shift assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform submarine shipboard installation and manufacturing work.
• Read blueprints and use Navy drawings to position components for installation.
• Support safety, quality, cost, schedule and continuous improvement initiatives; learn new skills as needed.
