Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT, invites qualified welders to join our team building nuclear-powered submarines. You will perform welding tasks across various materials using GMAW and SMAW, interpreting drawings, welding procedures, and work packages.

The role requires high school education or equivalent, up to 5 years of related experience, and flexibility to work all shifts. Benefits include medical, dental, 401K, paid time off, and tuition/boot reimbursements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or be a current HS senior, or have 2+ years of related technical experience.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience to this job description.
• Must be available to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Welding structural assemblies using GMAW and SMAW during fabrication and installation of submarine construction.
• Use of pneumatic tools such as grinders, burr tools, wire brushes, etc.
• Oxy/fuel pre-heat and carbon/arc gouging and verifying weld size using weld gauges.
• Reading and interpretation of weld symbols, technique sheets, and work packages.
• Additional tasks as assigned.
