Job summary

Amentum seeks an entry‑level O&M Shipboard Tech Specialist to deploy on 6‑month rotations, fixing surveillance gear and maintaining shipboard systems. You’ll operate in a fast‑paced environment with on‑site living arrangements including room and board during deployments.

You’ll develop hands-on skills in electronics, IT and maintenance while progressing toward higher‑paying defense sectors. Training is provided to build secure, mission‑critical capabilities at sea.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret clearance required (citizenship for Secret).
• Valid U.S. Passport.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years’ professional experience in an operational support environment.
• Basic comfort or interest in IT/electronics/engineering.
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Launch and recover surveillance arrays and fix gremlins in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Monitor live data streams in the Operations Center to ensure secure information flow.
• Track parts and log fixes into the WILD system; maintain tight inventory.
• Pathway to advance into high‑paying defense sectors (C4I, EM, or cybersecurity).
