Job summary

Amentum seeks a hands-on technician to operate and maintain SURTASS surveillance systems aboard ships on 6-month assignments, at sea and in port.

You will deploy, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment, document logs with the WILD system, and coordinate with teammates and supervisors to ensure readiness and compliance. Benefits include health and welfare options and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Passport required.
• Graduate of an accredited trade school or apprenticeship; OR Navy mechanical program; OR equivalent civilian program.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain SURTASS equipment and systems.
• Operate surveillance systems and stand watch in the Operations Center.
• Troubleshoot, log maintenance, and manage inventory and reports.
• Collaborate with technicians and supervisors and work independently after training.
