Job summary

Metronome, LLC seeks a Network Automation Engineer to sustain and upgrade shipboard networks. You will troubleshoot fielded networks, implement configuration updates, and advance automation using Ansible and PowerShell in CANES or similar Navy environments.

The role requires 3–5 years in network/systems engineering, with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent DoD experience. Hybrid work in San Diego, CA is expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience in network or systems engineering (DoD/Navy preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or 4 years of DoD engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE/NAC technologies (authentication, profiling, TrustSec).
• Experience developing automation artifacts (Ansible, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and change-management practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide sustainment support for fielded shipboard networks, including troubleshooting and configuration updates.
• Lead upgrades to network baselines across deployed configurations.
• Implement and sustain Cisco ISE/NAC with 802.1X, MAB, AAA, RADIUS, and TrustSec.
• Develop and maintain automation tooling for network sustainment (Ansible, PowerShell).
• Troubleshoot Cisco platforms (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless) across CANES environments.
