Title: SHIPBOARD MOTOR TRANSPORT MECHANIC

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

Program Summary

The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based on Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida, WITH DUTY ASSIGNMENT ABOARD A SHIP IN GUAM, SAIPAN, OR DIEGO GARCIA. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy. We are seeking a Shipboard Mechanic (Motor Transport).

Job Summary

Maintains, services, inspects and repairs combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles such as light combat vehicles, and trucks as well as other motor transport equipment. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  1. High school graduate or equivalent.
  2. Certificate from a vocational school or other recognized source with a major study in electrical or automotive repair is preferred.
  3. Five years directly related work experience. In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered.
  4. Completion of the basic automotive mechanics course, or equivalent.
  5. Completion of the automotive organizational maintenance course, or equivalent.
  6. Completion of the automotive intermediate maintenance course, or equivalent.
  7. Completion of the advanced motor transport maintenance courses.
  8. Must maintain a valid passport.
  9. Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.
  10. Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
  11. U.S. Citizen.
  12. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
  13. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
