THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

Program Summary

The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based on Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida, with duty assignment aboard a ship in Guam, Saipan, or Diego Garcia. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.

Job Title

Shipboard Motor Transport Mechanic

Job Summary

Maintains, services, inspects, and repairs combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles such as light combat vehicles, trucks, and other motor transport equipment. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certificate from a vocational school or recognized source in electrical or automotive repair preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5 years of directly related work experience.
  • Completion of basic automotive mechanics, automotive organizational maintenance, automotive intermediate maintenance, and advanced motor transport maintenance courses or their equivalents.
  • Must maintain a valid passport.
  • Valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.
  • Ability to comply with established methods, quality standards, and schedules.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and Base Access.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
