Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking an Engineer for our fleet to manage the technical operation, maintenance, and safe performance of shipboard systems. This role covers propulsion, auxiliary, electrical, and safety equipment aboard our vessels sailing coastal and inland routes.

The Engineer reports to the captain, coordinates with regional port engineers, and participates in maintenance planning, crew training, and incident response while upholding the company values of Optimism, Commitment,

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems on ships.
• Knowledge of shipboard machinery and auxiliary systems.
• Strong work habits, self-discipline, and grooming.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• TWIC card and pre-employment drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot shipboard propulsion, electrical, and auxiliary systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and provide 24-hour response for technical issues.
• Support vessel docking, logistics, and maintenance operations.
• Implement maintenance schedules to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
• Document maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
• Oversee repairs and collaborate with hotel officers to support guest service.
• Maintain secure, clean environments for passengers and crew.
