Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks an Engineer for our fleet. The role oversees propulsion, auxiliary, and onboard systems to ensure safe, efficient operation aboard ships sailing major river and coastal routes.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot diesel machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems, and respond to emergencies 24/7. The position requires flexibility for 7 days aboard with 4 weeks on/off rotation.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Strong work ethic, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
• TWIC – Transportation Worker Identification Card.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all shipboard machinery and systems.
• Provide 24-hour response to technical issues and emergencies.
• Support docking, logistics, and maintenance operations as needed.
• Implement maintenance schedules to keep equipment in optimum condition.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
• Document maintenance, repairs, and inventory activities.
• Execute emergency procedures for technical incidents onboard.
• Collaborate with hotel officers and service crew to support guest service.
• Maintain grooming, appearance, and professional conduct.
• Manage spare parts and oversee contractor repairs.
