Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks an Engineer for our fleet to oversee propulsion, auxiliary, and onboard systems with 24-hour responsiveness. The role focuses on safe operation, maintenance, and compliance across multiple vessels, coordinating with officers and crews.

The ideal candidate has diesel, hydraulics, and electrical experience, TWIC, and a commitment to safety, grooming, and professionalism onboard. This is a full-time position aboard ships year-round.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of shipboard machinery and auxiliary systems.
• TWIC – Transportation Worker Identification Card; pre-employment drug test and ongoing testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all shipboard machinery and systems.
• Provide 24-hour response for technical issues and emergencies.
• Support vessel docking, logistics, and maintenance as needed.
• Implement maintenance schedules to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Document maintenance, repairs, and inventory; oversee repairs on machinery and systems.
