Naval Nuclear Laboratory Bettis Shipboard Applications Unit develops and supports embedded software architecture for shipboard propulsion systems, delivering safety-critical functions for naval reactor plants.

The role requires a bachelor's 4+ years, or a master's 2+ years, or a doctorate in a related field; candidates must currently be in an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or RPCO Engineer role with the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a related technical field with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Masters degree in a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Doctorate degree in a related technical, engineering, or science field.
• Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or RPCO Engineer at the company.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support embedded software components for shipboard propulsion systems.
• Apply expertise to drive application development and test functionality of components.
• Collaborate with I&C team to address issues found during testing.
