Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks engineers for Bettis Shipboard Applications Unit to develop and support embedded software architecture components used in shipboard propulsion controls with safety-critical functions.

Roles emphasize applying embedded software expertise across development and testing phases, deriving requirements, and collaborating with the I&C team to resolve issues during validation testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in a technical field with 9+ years of relevant experience.
• Master’s in a technical field with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Doctorate in a technical field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, currently a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or RPCO Engineer at Naval Nuclear Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support embedded software architecture components for shipboard applications with UI and controls for propulsion systems.
• Apply and develop functional requirements to drive application development and test functionality of components.
• Collaborate with I&C community to identify and address issues observed during testing.
