Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and test shipboard software for US Navy submarines at its Groton, CT facility.

Candidates should have a BS in CS/EE/CE, 5–14 years in embedded software, and experience with C++ toolsets; familiarity with software lifecycle methods and source control is preferred. Occasional remote work may be possible; full-time on-site collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of system-level requirements.
• Development of software and interface requirements.
• Detailed design of software components and integration with hardware.
• Development of unit testing.
• Support to verification and validation testing of performance and operational requirements.
• Troubleshoot and enhance existing software to fix defects or improve features.
• Create and maintain formal requirements and design documentation.
• Support development of system prototypes for R&D projects.
