Job summary

Norwegian Cruise Line America is seeking an Electrical Engineer to maintain and repair shipboard electrical systems under the direction of the Chief Electrical Engineer. You will be responsible for knowledge of all electrical systems onboard and reporting concerns to the Chief Electrical Engineer.

You must operate the Emergency Generator and Emergency Switchboard, be familiar with Main Generators and Switchboards, and comply with Safety Management System and Class Rules while working in a

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years' experience as an electrical technician.
  • Strong knowledge of shipboard electrical systems and safety procedures.
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and adapt to shift changes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical systems onboard as directed by the Chief Electrical Engineer.
  • Be familiar with the operation of the Main Generators and the Main Switchboards.
  • Operate the Emergency Generator and Emergency Switchboard.
  • Report concerns with electrical systems to the Chief Electrical Engineer.
  • Be familiar with safety routines and ensure safeguards before maintenance/repair work.
  • Follow Safety Management System and Class Rules, and adhere to shipboard procedures.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma from an accredited Maritime Academy or equivalent
Position-specific STCW training from an accredited educational institution
