Job summary

Hornblower Group’s Ship's Communications Officer position focuses on operating, maintaining, and repairing C5I systems aboard TSV-3 NARRAGANSETT and TSV-4 VINDICATOR. Responsibilities include supervising watch personnel and coordinating maintenance to ensure maximum readiness.

Requires USCG license, STCW Basic Training, and TS security clearance; extensive knowledge of naval networks and crypto security is essential.

Qualifications

• USCG license or certificate required.
• Proficient in naval network management and radio cryptographic equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and capability to inspect and repair communications systems.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise watch standing personnel.
• Serve as ship's Network Administrator.
• Coordinate planned maintenance for operational readiness.
• Provide technical assistance and training as required.
• Maintain technical publications and files.
• Ensure COMSEC procedures and crypto security compliance.
• Operate shipboard information systems incl. satellite and HF/UHF/VHF links.
• Advise Master on equipment capabilities and condition.
• Participate in shipboard emergency drills.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
