Job summary

Reliability & Performance Technologies (R&P) is seeking an experienced mid-level ship systems test and activation engineer to join our defense-focused team in the maritime sector. The role supports government and commercial clients with system operation, troubleshooting, grooming, and testing in a fast-paced shipyard environment. Ideal candidates include U.S.

Navy veterans and credentialed U.S. Merchant Mariners (QMEDs).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• U.S. Navy veterans or U.S. Merchant Mariners (credentialed) preferred.
• Must be able to read and follow technical documentation and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end ship system inspection, grooming, activation, and testing of assigned systems.
• Provide activation, operations, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for hull, mechanical, electrical, and weapon system components.
• Plan and assist in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance and prepare reports with findings and recommendations.
• Conduct research to obtain drawings, manuals, and engineering recommendations for corrective actions.
• Travel to various locations to support ship tests, activation, and sea trials.
