Job summary

Reliability & Performance Technologies ( R&P ) seeks a mid-level ship deck systems test and activation engineer to join our defense-focused team. The role involves end-to-end testing, grooming, and activation of deck systems, with emphasis on maintenance, troubleshooting, and field support in shipyard environments.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with hull, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems and a valid DoD security clearance or the ability to qualify.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel to multiple locations for ship tests and sea trials.
• Possess or be able to qualify for a Secret DoD security clearance.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation and work items.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, groom, activate, and test ship deck systems end-to-end.
• Provide activation, operation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for deck systems (hull, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and associated gear).
• Plan and execute tests; determine requirements, modifications, and procedures; report findings.
• Collaborate with engineers and field personnel on technical problems and action plans.
• Train junior engineers on test and activation techniques.
• Read and follow drawings, manuals, test plans and procedures.
