Job summary

BRC in New York is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead frontline staff, manage shelter operations, and ensure adherence to safety policies. You will supervise Community Technicians, maintain records, and guide staff during incidents to promote a secure, supportive environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and supervisory experience, with First Aid/CPR and Fire Safety certifications or willingness to obtain them. Full-time with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in homeless shelters or similar settings preferred.
• At least one year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of addiction and recovery processes.
• Strong computer literacy and documentation skills.
• First Aid and Fire Safety certifications required (or willingness to obtain).
• CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain).

What You’ll Do

• Ensure staff follow all agency policies, procedures, and documentation standards
• Review and maintain accurate records, reports, and clinical notes
• Respond to incidents and provide guidance to staff as needed
• Participate in weekly program and leadership meetings
• Provide emergency First Aid/CPR assistance when required
• Perform related duties as assigned

Schedule

• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• Programs operate 24/7; various morning, evening, and overnight schedules available
