Job summary

BRC is seeking a Community Technician to serve as a trusted frontline presence for individuals experiencing homelessness. The role emphasizes trauma-informed engagement, de-escalation, and crisis response, with certifications training provided by BRC.

Candidates should be prepared for shift work, including mornings, evenings, and overnight, with overtime required. A path to case management and leadership is outlined, along with comprehensive staff support and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
• Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
• Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
• Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan, training provided).
• Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
• Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
• Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.

At BRC, every shift matters. As a Community Technician, you're a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness - often supporting people in moments of crisis, uncertainty, or transition.

This hands-on, frontline role is ideal for those interested in social work, human services, public health, or emergency response. No prior shelter experience required - just strong judgment, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

What You'll Do

• Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds
