The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing tasks as directed to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completing basic training in operations and management skills, and learning about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

• Management: Work effectively with store management and store crews; supervise store staff by assigning, directing, and following up on activities; communicate effectively with management and staff.

• Customer Service: Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints; promote CVS customer service culture; handle customer relations issues according to company policy; maintain customer confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, overnight, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

• Anticipated weekly hours: 40
• Employment type: Full-time
• Pay range: $17.25 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience and other factors
