The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing assigned work to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completing basic operations and management skills training, and learning about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

• Supervise store staff by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
• Communicate effectively with management and staff

Customer Service

• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, help, thank)
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, and advanced communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail experience

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Work Details

Expected weekly hours: 20. This is a part-time role. Pay range: $17.25 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
