Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs work as directed to gain the skills necessary for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for consideration for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the CVS Store Management team by driving store execution and performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth store operations, and is responsible for completing all opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers
    • Handle customer relations issues according to company policy to ensure positive shopping experiences
    • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Preferred: Retail experience
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated Weekly Hours: 29
  • Time Type: Part-time
  • Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
