Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, learns about key aspects of the business—like building customer loyalty through exceptional service—and understands CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and fostering customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

  3. Supervise store crew by assigning tasks, directing activities, and following up.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.

  2. Assist customers with questions, issues, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS customer service culture—greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated weekly hours: 24

Time type: Part time

Pay range: $17.25 - $26.00 per hour, dependent on experience, education, location, and other factors.
