Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare an employee for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs work as directed to develop supervisory skills, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for consideration for promotion to open supervisory positions. These leadership roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff.
    • Supervise store crew by assigning tasks, directing activities, and following up.
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
    • Promote CVS customer service culture through greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience.
    • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality.
Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 29
  • Part time
  • Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
