Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee to perform higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. It involves performing work as directed to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completing basic operations and management skills training, and learning about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These leadership roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Apply deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer skills.
  • Exhibit advanced communication skills.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Management
  • Work effectively with store management and staff.
  • Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
Customer Service
  • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  • Promote CVS's customer service culture (greeting, offering help, thanking).
  • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail is preferred.
Additional Details

Anticipated weekly hours: 40

Time type: Full time

Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
