Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to develop management skills, learns about key business aspects (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and understands CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of training, trainees may be considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  1. Customer Service
  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, and advanced communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 20

Time Type: Part-time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience and other factors.
