Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to develop supervisory skills, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads the staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management

• Work effectively with store management and staff
• Supervise staff by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
• Communicate effectively with management and staff

Customer Service

• Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
• Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, help, thank)
• Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring positive shopping experiences
• Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications

• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
• Advanced communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail experience

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40

Time Type: Full time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience and other factors.
