Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, completes training in store operations, and learns about CVS/pharmacy culture and customer service excellence.

Upon successful completion, trainees are considered for promotion to supervisory roles that support store operations and customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is present, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and manages opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
2. Work effectively with store management and staff
3. Supervise store activities by assigning tasks, directing staff, and following up
4. Communicate effectively with management and team members
5. Customer Service
6. Assist customers with inquiries, issues, and complaints
7. Promote CVS’s customer service culture: greet, offer help, thank customers
8. Handle customer relations in accordance with company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience
9. Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications

• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
• Strong communication abilities
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

• Anticipated Weekly Hours: 35
• Time Type: Full time
• Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and location
