Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing tasks as directed to prepare for future leadership responsibilities, completing basic operations and management skills training, and learning about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of training, trainees are eligible for consideration for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and is responsible for all opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  5. Customer Service
  6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  7. Promote CVS's customer service culture—greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  8. Handle customer relations issues per company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  9. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer proficiency.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Weekly Hours: 40

Time Type: Full time

Pay Range: $17.25 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, location, and other factors.
