Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to develop supervisory skills, completes basic management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisor roles that support store management in driving performance and customer loyalty. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff
  3. Supervise store activities by assigning, directing, and following up
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff
  5. Customer Service
  6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
  7. Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
  8. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
  9. Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated Weekly Hours: 29
  • Time Type: Part time
  • Pay Range: $16.00/hour

The pay range reflects the base hourly rate; actual offers depend on experience, education, location, and other factors.
