Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to gain management skills, learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees may be considered for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and following up
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, help, thank)
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy
    • Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications: Retail experience.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 20

Time Type: Part-time

Pay Range: $16.24 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
