Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The role involves performing tasks as directed to develop leadership skills, completing basic operations and management training, and learning about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.


Upon successful completion of the training, trainees may be considered for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the CVS Store Management team by driving store execution and performance while fostering customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes all opening and closing procedures.


Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew activities through assigning, directing, and following up.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  1. Customer Service
  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail is preferred.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
