Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, completes training on store operations, customer service, and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads staff, ensures smooth operations, and manages opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management:
   • Work effectively with store management and staff.
   • Supervise store crew, assign tasks, and follow up on activities.
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
2. Customer Service:
   • Assist customers with inquiries, issues, and complaints.
   • Promote CVS's customer service culture—greet, offer help, thank customers.
   • Handle customer relations in accordance with company policy.
   • Maintain customer confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer proficiency, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail experience (preferred).

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Additional Details

• Anticipated weekly hours: 20
• Part-time position
• Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and other factors.
