Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to build skills in operations and management, learns about customer loyalty, and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisor positions, supporting store management in driving store performance and customer service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads staff and ensures smooth store operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew activities through assigning, directing, and follow-up.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  5. Customer Service
  6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  7. Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  8. Handle customer relations issues per company policy and promote positive shopping experiences.
  9. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range is $16.00 per hour. Actual salary depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
