Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop supervisory skills, completes basic management training, and learns about key business aspects like building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These leadership roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff
   • Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
   • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
   • Handle customer relations issues per company policy and promote positive shopping experiences
   • Maintain customer confidentiality

Required Qualifications

• Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer proficiency
• Advanced communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Additional Details

• Anticipated weekly hours: 28
• Time type: Part-time
• Pay range: $18.72 per hour (base rate; actual offer depends on experience, location, etc.)
