Goodwill of Colorado is seeking a versatile Shift Supervisor to lead the Retail Center’s day-to-day operations. This full-time role requires open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with shifts starting as early as 7 am and ending as late as 10 pm.

You will supervise staff across customer service, inventory, and donation processing, ensuring safe, efficient store operations while supporting career growth within Goodwill's Retail Division.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Two years’ retail experience is desired.
Familiar with pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes.

Responsibilities

Monitor the retail center and address safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics either personally or through delegation.
Lead and coach staff; manage breaks; coordinate coverage for call-offs.
Open and close procedures; verify daily sales reports and count drawers.
Assist with inventory and moving donated product; ensure proper processing for e-commerce.
Provide excellent customer service and escalate issues as needed.

Previous supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, production, manufacturing or similar industries is preferred for this position. Please Note: Our Stores are open 9 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday and 9 am to 8 pm Sunday.

Job Summary

The Retail Center Shift Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day, tactical, and practical leadership of associates and teams across the entire retail center.

Essential Functions

Generally responsible for monitoring the whole retail center and addressing immediate issues of safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics either personally or through delegation.

Employee Leadership

Manages breaks.
Redirects staff/work teams to address call-offs.
Coaches employees verbally and with initial write-ups.
Provides input to reviews and terminations.
Facilitate employee purchases.

Task/Functional Leadership

Assists in opening and closing procedures
Responsible for the verification step related to the daily sales report paperwork.
Responsible for counting drawers.
Responsible for making change between drawers and the safe.
Assist with inventory process by counting, entering, and verifying.

Customer Focus

Plan, coordinate, and control the activities of the customer service team to maintain and enhance customer relationships, meet organizational, and operational objectives.
First escalation point for customer complaints.
Point of contact for turning down donations at Attended Donation Centers (ADC).

Cross Training

Maintains knowledge of store procedures at the proficiency of a generalist with the ability to fill in for an emergency.
Ensure E-Commerce product is processed accurately and moving to E-Commerce efficiently.
Uses and becomes certified on pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly, or other equipment or tools to effectively move and store donated product.
Maintains knowledge to the level where operations can be maintained in rare cases where no Assistant Manager or Manager are able to be on premises.

Education

A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience

Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Two (2) years’ retail experience is desired.

Other

Familiar with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
Able to obtain certification in all employee positions through completion of On the Job (OJT) documentation.
Able to obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification to safely operate equipment.
Able to quickly problem solve and make decisions.
Able to maintain confidentiality and follow Goodwill’s policies and procedures.
Proficient in the utilization of office equipment, office software (i.e. Word, Excel) and web-based applications (i.e. UKG) to meet the needs of employees and the organization.
Ability to manage corporate email and calendar (i.e. Outlook).
Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
